That experience came to a head on a recent Passivhaus build with pre insulated panels supplied by TyEco, where meticulous site supervision and airtightness detailing delivered a result of 0.3ACH@50Pa - well inside Passivhaus certification requirements.
Certified Passivhaus Tradesperson
Most consultants advise from drawings. Distaw has stood on scaffolding, sealed the junctions, and watched the blower door test confirm the numbers.
Currently completing; Certified Passivhaus Tradesperson qualification to formalise decades of practical experience against the Passivhaus standard.
A new - build Passivhaus project where airtightness was treated as a sequencing problem, not an afterthought. Every junction, penetration, and service run was planned and inspected before it was covered up - resulting in a test result of 0.3ACH@50Pa comfortably ahead of the Passive classic requirements of 0.6
The lesson; Airtightness isn't achieved at the blower door test. Its achieved - or lost - at every stage before it.
